Mix exchange?

i'm always down for mix trades. and it would be nice to get something in the mail other than bills and circulars. please only cd's though as i no longer own any devices that play cassettes. so even if nobody else sees/responds to this we've already got the least amount of people required to perform a mix trade. definitive favorite artist is Elvis Costello, but i listen to and enjoy all kinds of stuff.

Would anyone be interested in a good ole fashioned mix exchange?  I can organize it.

Definitely secret santa style.  And send them by snail-mail for extra fun maybe?

Everyone posts their favorite band/artist so that you know what not to put on their mix.

yeah?

Oooooo I would be into this. I haven't made a mix for someone in so long, I miss it! If everyone is tech savvy enough I think just sending a digital download of the playlist would be cool. I don't have a tape deck in my car anymore which sux, but I can still make tapes. Themed mixes are always fun

Yeah let's do it! Right now I'm pretty deep into Smog right now, so none of that.

swervy!

Themed mixes are so fun. Also I assumed CDs because they're easy but still physical. Digital playlists would be alright, but I like the art and craftsmanship that goes into a nice mix cd.

anyone else?

even number of positive replies here. how should we go about deciding who gets who's address so we can start compiling and mailing them out to one another?

I'll wait a few more days. then i'll use a randomizer to figure out who is mixin for whom. then I guess uhh.. if you don't want to post your address, message it to me and I'll just send it to the person who is making your mix? Does that work? and then I guess anyone can make one for me (because I want it to be a surprise).

Hell you put it together EVERYONE should make one for you.

I trust you all and even if I didn't I don't have much of anything worth stealing.

^ yeah that would be cool. I don't have tape making capabilities, and that makes it harder to organize this whole thang. hm

i'll burn a mix to cd like i've always said, and if somebody really wants a cassette copy i'll include a blank tape if they have the means to record it from cd to there. if anybody wants them i think i even have some old mixtapes from around 2006 still rattling around in the back of my car that i made to listen to on the old boombox a warehouse job i had around then used even though i haven't had a car with a tape deck for several years. in either case i hope things get figured out soon so i can start trying to compile some mixes. i got laid off a couple weeks ago and it'd be something fun to put some thought into as opposed to just frantically e-mailing out my resume to people.
